Lock down at Mind Retreat

Well it’s been a very busy time here at Mind Retreat Candles. Juggling my day job (teaching) alongside 3 lively children and a booming e-commerce business has not been easy! However, the support that has been shown for small businesses during these extremely unusual and scary times has been incredible.

Monthly subscription box launch

Back in March we launched the brand new monthly Mind Retreat Candles subscription service. A box of beautiful wax melts in a range of different scents, dropped through your letterbox each month. Each box is completely plastic free, fully recyclable and bursting with amazing scents. There are even limited edition scents that are exclusive to each box. These have been a popular addition to the collection and subscribers are growing by the day. For only £7 per month (including postage!) they are an affordable piece of luxury.

Brand new fragrances

We have also seen the launch of three brand new Mind Retreat Candles fragrances to the collection, each one as powerful, delicious and calming as every other scent that we stock. Lemongrass and Lime is an incredible citrus fragrance, fresh, vibrant and the perfect pick me up for these uncertain times. The other two are both pomegranate based, but two very different takes on this exotic fruit. One is a fresh and fruity burst of summer, with tones of raspberry, lime and acai, guaranteed to uplift you. The other is a much heavier, darker, more luxurious fragrance, with tones of amber, vanilla and leather. This one evokes a sense of calm and relaxation.

Burnley Lifestyle Magazine

Another exciting development for us here at Mind Retreat Candles is our upcoming feature in the Burnley Lifestyle magazine. This glossy lifestyle magazine showcases all the business talent in Burnley, Lancashire. There are features on some of the large manufacturing companies alongside smaller, niche enterprises. Burnley is an area of huge economic growth, and the past decade has seen a significant rise in in new businesses. The area has one of the largest number of business start ups in the North West. It is an absolute delight to be featured in the next edition of this fabulous magazine so keep a look out for us.

Stay home, stay safe, protect our NHS

With all the uncertainty surrounding Covid-19, nothing is more important right now than our loved ones. Whilst home schooling is hard, especially with children at very different ages, and working remotely is a challenge, never again will we get this time together as a family. It is incredibly hard not seeing parents, grand parents, friends and family. However it is more important that they are all still here once this pandemic is over!

It is more important than ever that we all stay home, stay safe, protect the NHS and the front line staff that are working so hard for us. We are living through a significant time in history, that our children will grow up to remember and pass on stories to their own children.

So, check on your neighbours, check on the vulnerable and stay home if you are lucky enough to be able to do so. Once this is all over, just imagine how much we will now appreciate the simpler things in life.

Thank you for reading and thank you to all of our loyal customers and followers that continue to support us as we grow.

Take care and stay safe x
